Benapec is fake. For a start, Benin is a French-speaking country but BENAPEC is an English acronym, which indicates the scammers who run this fraud are English-speaking Nigerians. The recently created domain benapec.com (March 2007) is hosted on a server in Nigeria. A search for the name Benapec has no oil industry related hits, only sites where people ask if it's a scam. This would not be the case for a legitimate major oil company. The domain is used in employment scams, where job seekers are tricked into sending cash by Western Union to fake immigration officials / lawyers / travel agents. It's a West African advance fee scam (419 scam). Beware of any job offers where you have to send money to immigration officials or travel agents in the country where the job is offered. If you need a work visa you always have to go through the embassy in your country.
Yes It's a country in it's own right. Ian M Correct spelling is Republique de Benin ( In French) or Republic of Benin (in English) You should avoid mixing the languages.

There is indeed a road between Togo and Benin, and you're in luck, mate, for most of it is paved. Check out the link below for a map. The Togo Road proceeds west from Cotonou, hugging the coast.
usually it's easier to find cheaper flights on the web, than with travel agents. however, you might need to spend more time on it.
make sure you never take your condom off from the moment you set foot in the place
Benin Oil is a real company but your appointment letter is absolutely, completely, totally without a doubt a complete fraud. Here is how you can tell: 1.) Do you have any idea what an appointment letter is? 2.) Did you apply for this appointment? 3.) Are you qualified in anyway to be appointed as an agent for Benin? The way you can tell this is a fraud is because the answer to all three questions above is a very emphatic no. Feel free to use this test with other unbelieveably good deals you see in the future.
If this is in regard to some to good to be true email then you are dealing with a SCAM African holding bank. See the following regarding African scams going on. http://www.crimes-of-persuasion.com/Nigerian/reporting.htm http://home.rica.net/alphae/419coal/ Don't send them any money!!!!
Are you in the U.K? If so your best bet is to fly to Malaga, there are loads of cheap flights. From there, Royal air Maroc fly to Cotonou. You will need a visa from a Benin embassy before you enter which costs about £70.00,$140.00 Euro100.00. You will also need 4 photographs, the address where you will be staying and a sponsor(you can use a hotel reservation) The visa will last 3 months but you can easily get an extension once you are in,they are happy if you are spending money.Beautiful country, amazing beaches but a very dangerous country, the population are very poor, most officials are corrupt, U.S $$$$ go a long way if you are in any trouble. Have a great trip
From Benin, you'd dial 011 for international, then Australia's country code (61), then the city code you're clling, then the local number you're calling. So, for instance, if I wanted to call 66204 in Perth, I'd dial 011 + 61 + 9 + 66204. Australia 61 Adelaide 8 Albury 60 Alice Springs 89 Armidale 67 Ballerat 53 Brisbane 7 Cairns 70 Canberra 62 Darwin 89 Geelong 52 Gold Coast 75 Hamilton 55 Hobart 02 Launceston 03 Melbourne 39 Mildura 50 Newcastle 49 Perth 9 Sydney 2 Toowoomba 76 Townsville 77 Wollongong 42
It would help if you specified the starting point of the flight. Is it a round trip starting in Lagos, Nigeria or in Aberdeen, Scotland?
This site will tell you about cashier check scams. I think you are a very good friend to suggest that your friend be careful. It's unfortunate she has given out any information but she absolutely must not give more. http://www.bayequest.info/scams.htm The counterfeit cashier's check scam is a very nasty scheme that hinges on people's longstanding belief that cashier's checks are good as gold. The most important tip if you receive a cashier's check? Be skeptical. More and more cashier's checks are fake -- very clever counterfeit checks designed to cheat you out of thousands of dollars. The scam started with criminal gangs based in Nigeria, probably numbering thousands of white-collar criminals. Now the scams appear to be multiplying more than ever, cheating ever more victims with cunning counterfeit check ploys. Con-artists often use the Web to work their schemes, and new variations are popping up all the time. Here's how the main counterfeit cashier's check scheme has worked: You are selling something over the Internet (used car, motorcycle, etc.) You receive an e-mail offer, with the buyer promising to pay by bank cashier's check. The check arrives, but it is made out for several thousand dollars more than expected - and the buyer asks you to send the difference back to them. Your bank accepts the check and credits you with the money, so you wire the extra money back to the buyer. But then the cashier's check turns out to be counterfeit -- phony. And YOU LOSE THE MONEY you wired - it's stolen and untraceable. http://www.state.ia.us/government/ag/consumer/advisories/12_04C_Checkw.html s
I dont know where or what Benin is. But as long as you get your stamping from any Canadian consulate, it should be ok.
Maybe if you provided a little more information it would help us help you. Is it famous for something? Where did you hear about it? If we know a little more, we might all be able to provide you some better answers.
Be suspicious. Ask her to allow you to apply for the work permit yourself. If she will not give you the instructions or the contacts, then you know what I say to be true. Benin cannot provide jobs for its own citizens, much less anyone else. Prove me a liar, but I think I am right on this score.
Well, I think it may be a scam but why don't you call the Radisson and ask if they have sent out requests for the short-listed candidates? If it's legit, they'll confirm and you won't look stupid; and if not, you find out it's a scam. You can go to the hotel's website or search the internet for the telephone of the hotel.
